Constant change as an opportunity

To­day in Zurich, the next six months in Sin­ga­pore – cur­rent trends in­di­cate a need for flex­i­ble han­dling of work­ing hours and places of work. How can one face this chal­lenge as a com­pa­ny and where do the op­por­tu­ni­ties lie?

The gen­er­a­tion of to­mor­row wants to work and would like its work to be mean­ing­ful – “pur­pose over prof­it” goes the new mantra. With this comes the need for flex­i­bil­i­ty and free com­mu­ni­ca­tion. A fixed desk and rigid work­ing hours are not on gen­er­a­tion Z’s wish list.

The com­pa­ny should adapt its own per­son­al­i­ty. Tomorrow’s tal­ent­ed work­ers want to do good and want to be able to iden­ti­fy with what they do. What at first glance looks like over-de­vel­oped self-con­fi­dence or even over-con­fi­dence re­veals a to­tal­ly dif­fer­ent as­pect if we look again – that of com­mit­ment.

Change is good

Ded­i­ca­tion and in­trin­sic mo­ti­va­tion. What bet­ter rea­sons could there be for do­ing some­thing? From the company’s point of view it makes sense to take ad­van­tage of this change as an op­por­tu­ni­ty, to ac­ti­vate and fos­ter the tal­ent in its own or­gan­i­sa­tion so that from its own in­ter­nal sense of con­vic­tion it can un­fold its max­i­mum po­ten­tial at the ser­vice of achiev­ing your cor­po­rate goals. If this chance is missed, tal­ent­ed em­ploy­ees will look for an­oth­er way to de­vote them­selves to a task.

Ac­ti­vat­ing the em­ploy­ees, a new way of think­ing and act­ing – it is pre­cise­ly fac­tors such as these which de­ter­mine whether a com­pa­ny suc­ceeds or fails, dri­ve your com­pa­ny for­wards and make it fit to meet the chal­lenges of the fu­ture.

Cul­ture is the mag­ic word

How can one op­er­ate as a unit in the con­text of flex­i­ble work­ing hours mod­els and a place of work in LA one day and Berlin the next? The an­swer is with a clear­ly de­fined and sin­cere­ly em­bod­ied cor­po­rate cul­ture, the company’s own unique DNA which acts as the key for in­ter­nal co­he­sion. This is what ce­ments the com­pa­ny of to­mor­row and is there­fore the cor­ner­stone of a mod­ern company’s suc­cess. There is noth­ing neg­a­tive about be­ing in­volved in this change, in fact it is an op­por­tu­ni­ty. Take ad­van­tage of it.
