Ready for the Time after the Storm

The current situation is particularly challenging for the retail industry. But now it is important to remain positive, focus on the future and use this crisis as an opportunity. Because one thing is clear: soon the shops will be open again.

On March 16th, the Fed­er­al Coun­cil de­clared the “ex­tra­or­di­nary sit­u­a­tion” for Switzer­land. As a re­sult, all shops, restau­rants, bars and leisure fa­cil­i­ties were closed un­til 19th of April. The con­se­quences for the re­tail sec­tor were far-reach­ing, as the cus­tomers of an en­tire in­dus­try were sud­den­ly stand­ing in front of closed doors.

At the mo­ment, we are still in the mid­dle of this storm. But the light at the end of the tun­nel is vis­i­ble. On April 8th, the Fed­er­al Coun­cil ex­tend­ed the na­tion­al “lock­down” for an­oth­er week, but promised to grad­u­al­ly re­lax the mea­sures from then on.

Now it is clear: the shops will soon be open­ing again. Good prepa­ra­tion is now cru­cial. Be­cause af­ter this storm, your own brand should be back in full force.
